Meghan’s musical presented with a smile
THE BBC is set to broadcast a musical comedy based on the life of the Duchess of Sussex.
The Radio 4 program, entitled The Sixth In Line To Be King And I, will air on New Year’s Day and will look at Meghan’s life and her future as she expects her first child.
The 15-minute piece, in the style of Rodgers and Hammerstein, is described as an “inspired celebration of Meghan Markle’s life to date”.
It will also look ahead “to what promises to be an exciting 2019 for the happy royal couple as they expect their first child in the spring”.
Meghan and Prince Harry had their own musical experience in August when they saw hit musical Hamilton in London and met the cast backstage.
The radio musical, in which comedienne Pippa Evans will play Meghan, is part of the 15- Minute Musicals series. Also on the BBC, Prince Charles will discuss the role music has played in his life in the longrunning Radio 3 show Private Passions.
In the program, on Sunday December 30, he will talk about the music performed at his wedding to the Duchess of Cornwall, which will be played along with a work he personally conducted with members of the Philharmonia Orchestra.
