Wharf call to artists
QUEEN’S Wharf Brisbane is offering a huge boost to artists, with a multimillion-dollar plan to commission works for the $3.6bn project.
The ambitious program kicks off today, with Destination Brisbane Consortium announcing what promises to be the richest art procurement process by a corporate entity in Queensland.
DBC project director Simon Crooks said a robust selection process would ensure each of the areas within the 7.4ha of public space earmarked for installations would deliver memorable artworks.
“We are encouraging the Australian art community to get imaginative,” he said.
