A TOWNSVILLE MP is under scrutiny after he walked into a shopping centre without a mask on.

Mundingburra MP Les Walker was seen at Fairfield Central Tuesday morning, walking through the centre with no mask on.

The statewide mask mandate is expected to be lifted on Thursday. Mr Walker was visiting a pharmacy for a flu shot.

The MP forgot his mask and when he realised his mistake, the Mundingburra MP left the shopping centre to retrieve it.

“I want to apologise for not having a masking on when I went into the shopping centre,” Mr Walker said. “I forgot to put my mask on and went straight back to my car to get a mask as soon as I realised. It’s important everyone, including me, follows the rules.”
