Brisbane Festival serenade

- PHIL BROWN

THE smash hit of Brisbane Festival last year, Street Serenades is coming back this year.

The Brisbane Festival, from September 3-25 this year, took scores of performers to suburban streets and parks and other locations for Street Serenades in 2020.

Tyrone Noonan, Jaguar Jonze, Camerata, Naomi Price, Briefs Factory and other acts turned up for pop-up events across the city and the people of Brisbane loved it, which is why they’re doing it again, artistic director Louise Bezzina says.

“Live music was one of the many experiences that was sorely missed when the pandemic was at its height and Street Serenades was one of the earliest ways we were able to bring the magic of music back to the community,” Ms Bezzina said. “I encourage everyone wanting to see Street Serenades to come to their neighbourhood this September to get in quick and nominate now.”

Suburban hosts for Street Serenades can apply from 1pm today with applications closing April 30. TO NOMINATE GO TO: BRISBANEFESTIVAL.COM.AU
