GOOD CALL, TEACH

-

BEIJING: The head of a Chinese middle school has hammered home the point that education comes first by urging his pupils to smash their mobile phones.

Not all the children looked entirely pleased with the idea. One boy gave the phone a hesitant tap before being encouraged to put his back into it, and a girl appeared reluctant to step forward at all.

The video of the pupils at the school in Xinyang, central China, went viral and renewed the debate about how to tame the excessive use of phones in schools, with many parents backing the radical move.
