Cooper Cronk & Tara Rushton
RUGBY league star Cooper Cronk made a big sacrifice for love this year when he quit the team he helped win four premierships and moved states to be closer to fiance Tara Rushton.
Cronk, who played with Melbourne Storm for 14 years, announced in April he would move to Sydney to live with Rushton, a Fox Sports presenter.
Undeniably one of the NRL’s golden couples Cronk and Rushton lead famously private lives, revealing very little about their romance since their engagement last Christmas.
“There’s a few things in life that are more important than football, like family, getting married and a future,” Cronk said in a rare candid moment in April. By October the star halfback had signed to the Sydney Roosters on a twoyear, $2-million deal. The pair quickly sealed the reunion, buying a $3.5 million Federation home at Mosman.
It would seem Cronk’s move was the right choice, as in 2017 Rushton’s star has continued to rise. The 32-year-old beauty co-hosted soccer’s DolanWarren Awards in May and she also cohosted the first ever Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Sport Awards in November.
