While a thorough clean in spring is a good idea, Howards Storage World marketing communications manager Cathy Player suggests also using this time of year to set up better ways of doing things.

Given it’s only a few months before Christmas, Cathy says it’s a great time to set yourself up with a more organised pantry.

She says having good quality, stackable containers with vacuum-sealed technology will not only help organise a pantry, they will avoid food spoilage and stop bugs such as pantry moths.

She also recommends setting up a laundry system for the family.

“You can have a tower with baskets to sort your colours, whites, dry cleaning and so on.” Cathy says.

“Every member of the family has the responsibility to use that, rather than just dumping their washing down in the laundry.”

Once the clothes are washed and dry, she recommends using a distribution station with a basket for each family member.

“So you’ve washed your clothes, you’ve dried them and the next step is to have a folding table,” she says.

“Then from the folding table it goes straight into a distribution station. The laundry is definitely an area where you can win back some time.

“Springtime’s a great time to put those systems in place.”
