New post for deputy

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - News -

VICTORIAN senator Bridget McKenzie will is likely to snare a federal Cabinet position after a party room vote awarded her the Nationals’ deputy leadership. The Bendigo-based senator, 47, a vocal advocate for hunting, high-country grazing and sporting shooters, replaces Fiona Nash, who was forced out of Parliament because of her dual citizenship status.

One of only two women in the Nationals’ party room, Senator McKenzie’s elevation to Cabinet could come at the cost of Infrastructure Minister Darren Chester, under terms of the Coalition agreement.
