No time to laugh but MPs leave us too weak to weep
The impasse associated with the dual-citizenship fiasco and the Senator Dastyari matter are beyond ridiculous.
In relation to the dual-citizenship matter, the leaders of the major parties have added another layer of stupidity by deploying tit-for-tat referral tactics to the High Court.
These matters are turning our leaders into a public laughing-stock.
The electorate has lost confidence in the parliament in general and its leaders in particular, and their ability to function in the national interest.
