Rocket Man Elton to ignite wedding party

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - One Day To Go Wedding Of The Decade -

ELTON John has been unveiled as part of the entertainment at tomorrow’s wedding.

US celebrity website TMZ reported the Tiny Dancer singer will appear during the big day, but it isn’t known whether his performance will be during the church ceremony or at one of the later receptions.

John has had a close association with the royal family for decades and worked closely with Prince Harry’s mother Princess Diana on AIDS research.

He also performed Candle In The Wind at Diana’s funeral in 1997.

Speculation had been rife that John was set to appear either as a guest or performer at Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding after the singer cancelled his concerts in Las Vegas, which had been scheduled for this weekend.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that The Spice Girls will not be performing — this is despite Mel B telling a US chat show that they would reunite and sing at the nuptials. “Only Victoria, Emma and Geri were invited, so clearly, the Spice Girls were never going to perform,” a source said.

British superstar singer Ed Sheeran had also volunteered to perform but has since confirmed he will not be part of the day’s entertainment.
