The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Sydney Confidential -

THE fashion set has put away their designer ensembles for another year, but Fashion Week is about to heat up again tomorrow with the start of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Edition 2018.

Sydneysiders are invited to the ticketed, weekend consumer event to get a taste of what it’s like for the celebrities and fashion identities who grace the front rows, watching fashion shows and Style Sessions hosted by industry experts.

Stylist Lana Wilkinson said guests could

expect to see plenty of strong summer trends on the runways this season, with oversized sleeves and Victorana-inspired details among the stand’s wear trends. “It’s very girlie and feminine,” she said. “Think Picnic At Hanging Rock, high necks, embroidery; we saw a lot of these styles at We Are Kindred and Thurley.” Ms Wilkinson said bold reds and pinks were also a major standout trend guests could expect on the runways at this weekend’s MBFWE. “That burst of colour is very much on trend,” she said. Tonight, fashion industry identities including as Pip Edwards, Tahnee Atkinson, Megan Irwin and Nathan Jolliffe are expected to return to Carriageworks to celebrate at the consumer event’s official launch party, which will feature a performance by indie pop band and designer duo Client Liaison.
