THE DAY’S BEST BETS

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - Racing -

RAY THOMAS RACE 5 No.3 ROMAN SON

Roman Son is a very progressive, in-form galloper with a brilliant burst of acceleration – a rare gift for a middle-distance horse. He has put his rivals to the sword at his past two starts and should complete the hat-trick tomorrow. Only bad luck will beat him.

SIMON THOMAS RACE 7 No.12 DAGNY

Smart mare from the Chris Waller stable who looks well placed with just 53.5kg on her back. Had no luck at Hawkesbury last start behind Siren’s Fury with 58.5kg and her stats over this track and distance are solid. Should be shorter than the $9.50 on offer with the TAB, and looks great value.

STEVE ZAMMIT RACE 5 No.3 ROMAN SON

Richard Freedman has this gelding in excellent form at present, putting together a winning double at his latest two runs. Continues to deliver and although he won’t be a fancy price tomorrow, he should be winning.

MATT JONES RACE 5 No.3 ROMAN SON

He’s ready to show why he’s a Brisbane Cup contender in what is his toughest test to date.
