BOXER KNOCKED OUT OF BIDDING

FORMER world box­ing cham­pion Jeff Horn has stepped into a new ring — join­ing the prop­erty auc­tion fray to find a new home for his young fam­ily.

Horn, wife Joanna and ninemonth-old Is­abelle Kate were ac­com­pa­nied by trainer Glenn Rush­ton as a five-bed­room, eight­car space home south of Bris­bane went un­der the ham­mer yes­ter­day. “It’s very nice, a lovely home if we are able to get it,” Horn said be­fore bidding be­gan, adding the fam­ily had in­spected it sev­eral times. “There’s a heap of peo­ple here, it’s crazy.”

As the bidding bat­tle wore on, Horn fi­nally threw in the towel at $3 mil­lion — but said he would keep look­ing. The prop­erty was passed in at $3.35 mil­lion.
