Widowers couple up

The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) - - News -

IT is a grim reality haunting aged care communities: why do grieving men find love much quicker than widows? A study found two-thirds of widowers were in a new relationship within 25 months, in contrast to less than 20 per cent of widows. Decca Aitkenhead, who wrote the biography of football legend Rio Ferdinand who has found new love after the 2015 death of his wife, says it is the fragile male ego. She says men cannot accept the indignity of a relationship with a widow still in love with a lost partner, whereas women can.
