SCHOOL BOSS IN FRAUD CASE
A TRIAL date has been set for a former state education department boss charged with conspiring to steal millions of dollars from public schools.
Former Victorian education department head Nino Napoli, his cousin Carlo Squillacioti, brother Robert Napoli and sister-in-law Dominica Napoli faced the County Court of Victoria yesterday. Their appearance followed accusations that at least $1.9 million was channelled to Napoli’s family and associates between 2007 and 2014. Nino is charged with multiple offences, including conspiracy to defraud, dealing with proceeds of crime, furnishing false documents, and perverting the course of justice.
The matter will return to court on March 8.
