So our won­der­ful, wise and ex­tremely well-paid fed­eral par­lia­men­tar­i­ans have pulled up stumps for 2018, jet­ted home in busi­ness class, all thanks to the tax­payer, and will re­turn, can you be­lieve it, on Fe­bru­ary 12 next year. If only we all had such tough jobs.

In his let­ter (7/12), chief sci­en­tist Dr Alan Finkel spoke a lot of words, but didn’t say much. The bot­tom line is, as long as In­dia, China and the US refuse to re­duce emis­sions, what­ever the rest of the world does, is mean­ing­less. The prob­lem Doc is that Aus­tralia is shoul­der­ing much more than it’s fair share. And it’s not mak­ing any dif­fer­ence. Tom, Kil­lar­ney Vale
