Defending premiers start well
Corowa’s A Grade started its premiership defence well against Baranduda on the weekend, with a five-wicket win.
Baranduda were bowled out for 111 with Corowa requiring just 23.2 overs to get the job done.
Tight bowling by captain-coach Mark Athanitis (4-25) and Joe Hansen (3-12) proved too strong for the Rangers.
Nathan Rhodes top scored with a quick fire 36, supported by a big-hitting performance by Matt Wilson who found the boundary five times.
The side looks again to have a successful year with the likes of Matt Grantham, Kade Wilson, Tyler Easton and Jarrod Lane still to come back into the side.
Jordan Eyers, Luke Backhouse and Will Seymour relished their opportunities in the top side.
