Local Bald Archy pieces sell in Corowa

The Free Press (Corowa) - - CLASSIES (03) CLASSIES -

When local artists, John and Jo Skillington visited the 2018 Bald Archy exhibition at the Corowa Art Space it was a welcomed surprise to see their works hung right next to each other - and to see that both have been sold.

John’s work ‘Humpty Dutty’ depicts Peter Dutton as a caricature of Humpty Dumpty, while Jo’s ‘In a class of their own’ shows a group of school children including Bishop, Abbott, Dutton, Morrison, Turnbull, and Pyne as the students with Howard as the headmaster.

This year’s Bald Archy exhibition does not disappoint and presents our politicians and other famous people in a very different light. The paintings and their accompanying stories are sometimes blunt, sometimes candid, but overall they are entertaining and provide lots of laughs. Visitors so far have voted the 2018 exhibition as the best yet.

The exhibition is at Corowa ArtSpace until Saturday, November 3 and open every day from 10am-4pm. Entry is $5 and children go free.

Pictured are local artists from Albury John and Jo Skillington, in front of their works on show at ArtSpace Corowa.
