Corowa Ruther­glen’s Fam­ily Fun Day will be held this year on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 28 at John Fo­ord Oval.

The Tigers lost to the Swans 1 rub­ber to 2 rub­bers. The 1s didn’t play. Ange Gran­tham re­served for Jane Bromwich and lost to Damien Plem­ing 1 game 18 points to 3 games 30 points. Sam green lost to He­len Fuge 1 game 21 points to 3 games 35 points. Michelle Walsh beat Frank Fitzger­ald 3 games 34 points to 2 games 29 points.

The Rebels beat the De­mons 2 rub­bers to 1 rub­ber. Graeme Leslie beat Jim McGrath in 3 games 27 points to 11 points. The 2s didn’t play. Tony Doughty beat John Kostiw in 3 games, 28 points to 15 points. Rory Stones lost to Sean Doughty in 3 games, 2 points to 27 points.

The Jaguars lost to the Spi­ders. The 1s, 2s and 3s didn’t play. Chris Reilly lost to Jamie Warner in 3 games, 11 points to 27 points.

The Bull­dogs beat the Li­ons 221 points to 164 points. Stephen Blain beat Danny Green in 3 games, 45 points to 33 points. Travis Smith beat Chris Gil­lard on a for­feit. Jamie Warner lost to Phil Will­coxen who re­served for Michelle Walsh 2 games 57 points to 3 games 45 points. Jarred Hug­gins lost to Josh Reid in 3 games, 21 points to 45 points. Ash­ton Smith beat Bella green 3 games 53 points to 1 game 41 points.

The Emus beat the Kan­ga­roos 207 points to 192 points. Graeme Leslie beat Ja­son McGrath in 3 games, 45 points to 28 points. He­len Fuge beat Bryce Stones on a for­feit. Phil Will­coxen lost to Sean Doughty in 3 games, 23 points to 45 points. Jodi Goodall lost to Chris Reilly in 3 games, 18 points to 45 points. Bree Wil­let lost to Jack King 2 games 76 points to 3 games 74 points.

The Echid­nas lost to the Wom­bats 193 points to 212 points. The 1s didn’t play. Ange Gran­tham beat Tony Doughty 3 games 51 points to 1 game 45 points. Frank Fitzger­ald lost to Sam Green 1 game 42 points to 3 games 54 points. Ky­ron Smith lost to Blake Green 1 game 53 points to 3 games 52 points. Lachie McKen­zie lost to Frankie Goodall 1 game 47 points to 3 games 61 points.

The club is also of­fer­ing a ju­nior footy and net­ball clinic to boys and girls aged be­tween five and 16. All fam­ily mem­bers are in­vited to come along for the day, which starts at 11am and fin­ishes at around 1pm. To reg­is­ter for your child to par­take in the clinic, head to the club’s Face­book page where a reg­is­tra­tion link can be found. The cost is $10 per clinic par­tic­i­pant or $20 for fam­ily (two-plus chil­dren par­tic­i­pat­ing in a clinic). There will also be face-paint­ing, a jump­ing cas­tle free of charge, drinks and a gold coin BBQ. Coaches will be there for a chat as will rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the lo­cal Aus­kick and Net­setgo. All par­tic­i­pants need to reg­is­ter be­fore the day, with money to be paid on the day.

Corowa Ruther­glen A Grade net­ball coach Ge­orgie Bruce said this event is a “fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity”. The day is a so­cial com­mu­nity gather­ing with plenty of en­ter­tain­ment on of­fer for the whole fam­ily. Ms Bruce said it is the per­fect chance for a catch up be­fore peo­ple be­come busy lead­ing into the Christ­mas pe­riod and an op­por­tu­nity that the broad com­mu­nity should be tak­ing ad­van­tage of. The doors will be open to any­one and ev­ery­one in sur­round­ing dis­tricts, where kids be­tween five and 16 will im­prove their skills and en­joy a fun clinic.

Corowa Ruther­glen will also be run­ning a Ju­nior De­vel­op­ment Rook­ies team again in 2019, which is open to all play­ers af­fil­i­ated with any club or any girls who want to play net­ball, help­ing them im­prove their skills and giv­ing them more ex­po­sure to the sport.

Any­one wish­ing to play with the rook­ies are asked to at­tend the 16 and un­der tri­als.
