Charges follow for truck driver
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man after the recent double fatality in Brimin between Bundalong and Rutherglen on Friday, November 2.
It is understood an eastbound truck on the Murray Valley Highway collided with a westbound car just after 9.30pm.
Amanda Kilmister, 37, and her 12-year-old son Harrison from the car died at the scene.
The remaining occupants of the car, 44-yearold Paul Kilmister along with their sons, eightmonth-old Austin and two-year-old Morgan, were airlifted to hospital with critical injuries.
The 31-year-old truck driver from Mooroopna, Ryan Wayne Kenny, has been interviewed and charged at Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Monday with 15 offences, including two counts for culpable driving, two counts of dangerous driving causing death, two counts of negligently causing serious injury, two counts of dangerous driving causing serious injury, two counts of reckless conduct endangering life and serious injury and charged with exceeding the prescribed concentration of drugs while driving.
He has been remanded in custody to appear at Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court on March 14, 2019.
The Kilmister family, who loved waterskiing, moved to Bundalong about five years ago.
