New Pro Shop location a winner

- BY ROBERT MUIR

Relocating the Pro Shop at Corowa Golf Club as part of the clubhouse has proved to be a winner for golfers.

“It’s been a good move, converting the functions/meeting room – the old board room – into our Pro Shop,” club general manager Daniel Peacock said.

“It’s been really, really well received. Having

the Pro Shop inside, we didn’t have to borrow anything to do.”

Club professional James Gordon said the feedback from members has been very good. Just outside, near the 10th East Course hole, are new umbrellas on a lawned area for the comfort of members.

Relocation of the Pro Shop happened on December 16, in plenty of time for the big two-day Murray Open event which was covered in detail in last week’s edition of The Free Press and which followed the Pro Am.

The Pro Am attracted 22 professionals and 55 amateurs, with the winning team comprising Brad Glares and sons Bryan and Taj who had Melbourne professional Ryan Lynch in their group.

“Members loved having it here,” James said of the Pro Am and the Murray Open. “The volunteers all loved it. They were involved with it and their efforts were, as always, very much appreciated.”
