The backdrop of Anzac Day spirit was the setting for the Roos today taking on Yarrawonga.

Yarrawonga as expected came out hard with poor kicking preventing an early blow out, but by quarters end the boys had found their rhythm but failed to convert opportunities.

The second quarter saw the Roos often on the back foot from a ferocious Yarrawonga team who were working for each other.

The 3rd quarter started to see an improved hardness at the contest but unfortunately Yarrawonga continued to hurt the Roos on the score board.

Chalky at 3 quarter time quietly challenged the boys to up their work rate, asking each player to take the game on individually and for the team. To make a statement about themselves.

The 4th quarter was a testament to the boys as they rose as a collective, a 7 goal turnaround & keeping Yarrawonga goalless in the last quarter highlighted what they can achieve. Let us start how we finished next week boys.

Yarrawonga too good on the day but the boys should be very proud of their finish and by the end of the game they were playing.

Awards: Ethan Hanrahan was hard at it all day leading by example across the ground. Judd Kuschert was busy all day and damaging up forward. Nash Lavis’ strong body work in the second half especially Ethan Palmer read the play well all day, strong in the air Jack Kay kept busy, hard at the contest Jake Shipard rarely beaten by his man.

Bolger, Jayden Forge, Jay Lavis, Isaac Dickinson and Ashton Wynn were getting plenty of the ball.

The second quarter saw Isaac receive a great handball from Ashton then goaled. Then a quick pass from Jay saw Isaac goal again. Isaac kicked another for the quarter. Lucas Tafft was rucking well. With a pass from Isaac Leroy Chester kicked a good goal to end the quarter.

Ashton started the third quarter well with quick hands to Leroy and then on to Isaac for an early goal to start the quarter well. Jay Lavis, Benji Hanrahan, Jayden Forge and Lucas Tafft played a great quarter. Jaxon goaled, and Tex Longmire was playing well down back.

The last quarter started with a kick from Isaac around the corner to Hunter Hall who marked and goaled. Jay, Jayden, Tex and Benji finishing strongly. A great win by the boys and they sang the song for the first time this season loud and proud!
