Ball Park negotiations continue

- BY ROBERT MUIR

Contract negotiations regarding the management of Ball Park Corowa are continuing with a final decision expected at Federation Council’s next monthly meeting on May 18.

Council has been unable to execute a contract with the preferred tenderer, Remlap Pty Ltd, as resolved at council’s January meeting, and considered an update report at the April council meeting on where the negotiations reached.

At its latest meeting, council resolved that General Manager Adrian Butler be delegated to further negotiate with interested parties and report back to the Extraordinary Council meeting on May 4 (yesterday) and continue on the current arrangement with the temporary park manager.

A further update can be provided after the May Extraordinary Council meeting, but it is more likely a final decision will not be made until the ordinary May meeting on May 18.

“In the interim, to keep the park operational, especially considering the busy time with many visitors using the site over the recent Victorian long weekend, council has continued with staffing the park,” Mr Butler advised.

“Should contract negotiations continue to take time, council will be required to seek other short-term arrangements for within the park.”
