Expo has info for ageing residents
THE Derwent Valley Council and Corumbene Care will hold an information expo for older people at New Norfolk this month.
Funded through the State Government’s Liveable Communities program, Keeping Engaged in the Derwent Valley will showcase a variety of services and activities available to local residents.
The expo will feature information, demonstrations and health checks.
It will also include information on how older people can remain active in the community through recreation and volunteering opportunities.
Transport to the expo can be arranged by contacting Corumbene Care or Community Transport Services Tasmania.
Expo attendees will be asked to indicate what services or activities they would like more information about.
A further three forums will be organised to provide more detailed information on the topics participants have indicated they are most interested in.
The expo will be held at the New Norfolk RSL on June 28 from 11am-2pm.
Attendance is free, and light refreshments will be provided.
For more information, call the Derwent Valley Council on 6261 8500.
