Man charged with speeding
POLICE have clamped the car of a Sandy Bay man accused of travelling more than 100km/h over the speed limit in the Central Highlands.
Liawenee police allege a blue Honda Civic was detected travelling at 202km/h in a 100km/h zone on Highland Lakes Rd near Liawenee last Tuesday.
The 34-year-old driver was intercepted by police and had his vehicle clamped for 28 days.
He was charged with operating a vehicle in public place in an unnecessary execution of speed, acceleration or loss of traction, and exceeding the speed limit. He was bailed to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
