Heater sparks blaze
TWO shipping containers and a shed on a remote Elderslie property have been destroyed after an open wood heater sparked a blaze.
Tasmania Fire Service crews from Bridgewater, Brighton and Broadmarsh re- sponded to the fire at Bluff Road about 11.30am on Monday.
Acting Station Officer Adam Salter said the shed, which was being used as accommodation, and the containers were well alight when firefighters arrived, with the damage bill estimated at $100,000.
Mr Salter said gardening equipment, workshop tools, a gun safe, a gas cylinder and war medals as well as other memorabilia were destroyed. No one was injured.
