MAYDENA Bike Park will play host to one of Australia’s major mountain bike national championships next year in a boon for one of the country’s newest bike parks.

The Maydena track will showcase the 2019 Enduro National Championship, one of mountain biking’s premier competitions.

Mountain Bike Australia CEO Shane Coppin said the Maydena Bike Park was a perfect fit to host the national championship.

“Everyone is talking about Maydena and its superb trail network,” he said.

“It will be exciting to see riders test their level of skill at this world-class venue.”

Mr Coppin said MTBA was hoping to bring more major events to the Derwent Valley bike park in the future.

Maydena Bike Park managing director Simon French said the national championships will be the perfect opportunity to show off the Maydena track on the national stage.

“The park has a massive 820 vertical metres of wilderness terrain and I think riders will experience the best of the best endure trails in the country,” he said.

The event will be held November 23-24 next year. Schedule and online registration dates for the championships will be released early next year.
