HIS­TORIC New Nor­folk con­vict-built man­sion Glen Der­went will have its 200th birthday marked in style this week­end with a fes­ti­val of Re­gency era cel­e­bra­tions.

The house and gar­den party will take pa­trons back in time for a day of song, dance, food and ac­tiv­i­ties at the es­tate.

“It prom­ises to be an ex­cit­ing and de­light­ful day for the whole fam­ily in the lovely Der­went Val­ley,” event or­gan­iser David Wan­less said.

“We have an ex­cit­ing pro­gram of ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing cro­quet, his­toric tours, horses and cart, and pe­riod games.”

Co-or­gan­iser Cath­leen Hutchin­son said pa­trons were en­cour­aged to don at­tire from the Re­gency era to get in the spirit of the event.
