THE COUPLE: Selena Devenport and Lachlan Robertson THE LOVE STORY: “We met at the start of 2014 as we both started working at the new Gold Coast light rail – Lachie as a controller and myself as a tram driver,” Selena says. “After asking me out a couple of times and me saying ‘No thanks, I don't date workmates!’ I finally gave in, falling for his charm, sense of humour and dashing good looks. I knew he was the man for me.” Turns out he’s also pretty good at planning proposals. “We were enjoying a holiday in Kingscliff,” Selena says. “Lachie popped the question (after asking my father’s permission) with a beautiful ring he’d chosen. It was very romantic and totally unexpected, on the balcony under the stars on a moonlit night.” THE BIG DAY: March 11, 2017 at RACV Royal Pines, Benowa. “It was such a beautiful day,” Selena says. “I think the most memorable moment was being surrounded by our families and friends, some we hadn’t seen for years and others who had flown from interstate to share our special day together.” She says it was the perfect day that went off without a hitch. THE SOUNDTRACK: The aisle song was This Year’s Love by David Gray and the first dance was to Perfect by Ed Sheeran. THE DRESS: “The dress was Enchanting by Mon Cheri from Ferrari Bridal,” Selena says. “It was a chiffon A-line gown with a hand-beaded lace sweetheart bodice. I found it the first day I went dress shopping and didn’t need to look anymore.”
