CLING TO THE ROCK AND DON’T LET GO, US, 107 MIN
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson does not have an autopilot setting. Which is just as well for this formulaic actionadventure affair (loosely inspired by an ’80s video game). He stars as Davis Okoye, tasked with saving Chicago from a trashing by a giant albino gorilla named George. George now runs with a gnarly gang that includes an alligator the size of a nuclear sub. The whole movie is as dumb as a brick, sillier than words can say, and a smidge more fun than it really should be due to the enthusiasm of Johnson.
