Cole Porter’s last work Kiss Me Kate proved a hit from the start and now Gold Coast the­atre fans can en­joy GCLT’s ver­sion of the clas­sic mu­si­cal

Open­ing this week is Kiss Me Kate, directed by An­drew Cock­roftPen­man. This big, brash Cole Porter mu­si­cal is sure to be a block­buster for GCLT, which hosted a ter­rific Drinks with the Di­rec­tor last week. This mu­si­cal was Cole Porter’s last work and it was a hit from the start. It opens Satur­day. Tick­ets are on sale now on­line or at the the­atre. The Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club is back at the Par­adise Room with its first show of the year to­mor­row night. It’s Jan Pre­ston’s Won­der­ful Win­nie, a mu­si­cal trib­ute to the fab­u­lous tal­ents of Winifred Atwell and her honky-tonk piano. Tick­ets are avail­able through HOTA or call 5588 4444. Blind­side and Drums of War will be lead­ing the VIP singers through some cool songs this year. The VIP Fe­males will do Sit Still, Look Pretty from Pitch Per­fect 3 and Bot­tom of the River from Delta Rae. The mixed song is 24K Magic by Bruno Mars as ar­ranged by Drums of War. Terry and Andy are be­ing taken from the pages of the popular Andy Grif­fith and Terry Den­ton book and put on to the stage for an amaz­ing pro­duc­tion. For­mer lo­cal per­former Tim Car­roll is one of the stars.
