Curtain lifted on Bambu bar vibe

PALM Beach restaurant and live music haunt The Palmy Cafe has been revamped after a changing of the guard.

Owner Robyn Horley has passed the baton on to her daughter, Ellyn, and her partner, chef Felipe Sidoti.

Now branded Bambu, the ‘‘funky, younger, more bar-style’’ venue boasts a breezy, tropical vibe.

A musician, Sidoti continues the venue’s history of supporting live local musos with Bambu Originals on Wednesdays, Friday Nights Live and chilled-out Sunday sessions.

Bambu is on the beach side of the highway at Palm Beach, near the surf club. Local roots/reggae outfit CC the Cat, led by Claire Cottone, plays Bambu tonight from 6pm.
