BE A PART OF THE FOOTY ACTION AND SUPPORT THE TITANS AT CBUS STADIUM #TITANSFULLHOUSE

- JESSICA HUXLEY TXT4U REPORTER

THE Titans’ newest ambassadors are pushing to fill the Cbus Stadium in Robina this Saturday when the club meets the Wests Tigers in Round 1 of the NRL season.

Year 11 mates Nicholas Muir, Jack Webber and Phil Oliver became internet sensations when their social media hashtag #Iwillneverwalkaway went viral in support of the club that was rocked by a drug scandal last month.

And now the boys have embarked on a new mission: to pack out their home-ground stadium with fans for the club’s first home game of the season.

Their latest campaign #Titansfullhouse says it all.

The three school friends have taken pride in their unofficial ambassador role and even met their footy heroes in person at the Titans season launch at Jupiters casino in Broadbeach last week.

“We are really shocked and didn’t expect all this attention we have been getting. We have had phone calls from members, and players such as Josh Hoffman have been retweeting us,” Nick said.

“We are not condoning taking drugs at all. It’s absolutely not acceptable and we want to tell kids that they will have a much brighter future if they don’t take drugs.

“However, we know the club will only become stronger for going through this and their future success is only just around the corner.”

As a young Titans supporter I myself came up with the movement, #iwillneverwalkaway to rally supporters to stay with their club in these dark times.

I have had my fair share of success and failure while I’ve been supporting the Titans brand and I still believe Titans supporters should listen to a quote that my mate Max told me, “to first taste success, you must endure failure”.

While I do not condone drug use and I would warn any young person about the dangers, I don’t think this scandal should reflect the whole club.

This is what #iwillneverwalkaway stands for, staying by your club in their time of need and pushing through for the future success that awaits around the corner.

I was honoured last Thursday night to meet my heroes in person at the Titans season launch at Jupiters Hotel and Casino in Broadbeach.

Camera crews were left, right and centre as we approached an event that would be etched into our memories.

A highlight of the night for me was seeing and speaking to an Origin legend I’m so used to seeing on my TV screen on Fox Sports. Seeing Gorden Tallis’s face when he was told I was the creator of #iwillneverwalkaway was something I will never forget.

To see the satisfaction he received from young fans like us sticking behind the club has made me see how much passion Gordie has for rugby league – Go the Raging Bull! JACK WEBBER, YEAR 11, MARYMOUNT COLLEGE SEEING all the players, board members, journalists and anyone who has anything to do with the Titans, who are all so high up in the media world, in one room was just so surreal.

Just being there was a gift but being able to talk to each and every one of them was a blessing.

To top it all off, we got to take a #selfie with the coach (Neil Henry) and show the social media world that a little action goes a long way if you try hard enough. PHIL OLIVER, YEAR 11, MARYMOUNT COLLEGE ARRIVING on the night of the Titans season-opener was amazing.

Walking through the massive glass doors of the function centre, walking alongside players and officials made the night so special. When we arrived, we met Matt White and Will Zillman and asked to take photos with them.

They struck me as such nice, humble people and were very happy to converse with us. The massive feeling of meeting the players who we’d seen on TV and on the field and looked up to was awesome.

Just talking to them as if we’d just met them on a bus set the bar for the rest of the amazing night.
