HOLLYWOOD A-listers Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have arrived on the Gold Coast in time to make a possible appearance trackside at this weekend’s Gold Coast 600.

The couple, who welcomed their first child, daughter James, in December, flew into Brisbane last Saturday.

They are believed to be keen to see the V8s navigate the infamous “concrete canyon” street circuit in Surfers Paradise before Lively begins filming her starring role in the shark thriller The Shallows next week.

Described as Jaws meets 127 Hours, The Shallows casts Lively, 28, as a young woman forced to battle a sadistic shark that traps her on a buoy 20m from shore.

The film will be shot in Village Roadshow Studios’ water tanks and on location on an island off the coast of NSW.

Green Lantern actor Reynolds, star of Marvel’s highly anticipated new film Deadpool, is expected to spend more time on the Coast in the next couple of years if Queensland entices Marvel Studios here blockbusters.

Celebrity race fans including Broadwater Parklands concert headliners Cold Chisel and support act Darren Middleton, best known for his guitar work with Powderfinger, are expected to take in race action.
