Electric atmosphere as the weekend hots up

-

The city is buzzing with all the GC 600 action. The drivers will hit the track this morning and a jam-packed schedule has kicked off. CC caught up with a few personalities to see what they are looking forward to this weekend.

DAVID ‘LUTTSY’ LUTTERAL Breakfast announcer, 106.9 Nova “It starts for me at The Black and White Porsche Carrera Cup Lunch today. Then heading to Club600 on track where I won’t be missing superstar Brooke Evers this year. Cold Chisel is a must as well. I always get above pit lane for the big V8 races on Saturday and Sunday. I’ve had some of my best party experiences there with amazing people, with maybe a XXXX or two to keep hydrated!”

BROOKE EVERS

TV personality, model & DJ “I’m stoked to be back home — I absolutely love being back on the GC. The whole place is in party mode. Last year I had so much fun playing Club 600, it was nuts — can’t wait to rock it again on Saturday afternoon”

EMILY JADE O’KEEFE Breakfast announcer, 102.9 Hot Tomato “While I just love the vibe of being in among everyone during the race, I truly love watching the event on the TV. When they do the big sweeping shots from the air showcasing the race, the winding building jungle and the gorgeous beach and blue ocean, I get a huge surge of pride at how breathtaking the Gold Coast is.”

JACKIE CROSS

Cross Promotions & Events “What’s not to love about the GC600? We’ve always been massive fans of the party atmosphere that V8 Supercars brings to the Coast. The race on Sunday is always so much fun, plus we have Club600 (our on- track club) pumping all weekend. But the highlight would have to be Cold Chisel, on the Broadwater, under the stars. Perfect.”

TOM TATE Gold Coast Mayor “I am so looking forward to hanging out in the pits on Saturday. Go Lowndes! At the concert l am going to hit up Jimmy Barnes to change his hit song Working Class Man to Working Class Mayor! You will catch me singing in the crowd. You can’t belt out bad singing at an Ed Sheeran, Elton John or Michael Buble concert, but you can when Barnesy is on stage.” CC recommends you stay clear of the mayor’s yodelling or take some muffs!

JULES INGALL Wife of racing legend Russell Ingall “It’s one of the best events on the calendar. It’s so close to home, we can sleep in our own bed, catch the tram to the track and all our friends come out to watch. But also the atmosphere is electric. The weather is fantastic, the track has everything and you see the beautiful beaches being sent out across the world.”

CHARLI ROBINSON Breakfast announcer 90.9 Sea FM & TV personality “My parents Peter & Kerry drive up from Newcastle to share in our fave ‘family’ weekend! I grew up loving the V8s as Dad would take us to the Bathurst 1000 and teach me all about the cars ... now it’s like our family sport. Mum is Ford and Dad loves Craig Lowndes so we have feisty conversations.”
