Tippett to offload Burleigh facility

-

AUSTRALIAN Rules superstar and Sydney Swans spearhead Kurt Tippett is set to cut ties with a Burleigh Heads industrial facility.

The facility at 7 Greg Chappell Drive in Burleigh Heads will be released to market for sale next week and offered in an expressions of interest campaign until November 17.

Pat Cavanagh, who is marketing the site with Colliers International colleague Daniel Coburn, said the owners wanted capital for other development projects.

“They feel market conditions are right,’’ he said.

Government records show the property is held by Locked and Loaded Properties, with Mr Tippett as sole director.

Locked and Loaded paid $1.88 million for the property in October 2014.

The 6697sqm site features a 600sqm industrial warehouse and office building. Other features include a wash bay, multiple roller doors, heavy three phase power and large hardstand.

Mr Cavanagh said national group On-Site Rentals holds a five-year lease with five-year option on the property.

There are four years left on the lease which is returning $196,950 net a year, with tenant paying all outgoings and GST on top of the rent.

“We expect this investment will be highly sought-after,” Mr Cavanagh said. ECO Tan founder Sonya Driver may be able to put cucumbers to better use than in sandwiches (take her all-natural coconut sunscreen as an example) but nibbling on the hors d’oeuvres of the uppercrust with Queensland Governor Paul De Jersey may take some beating.

Ms Driver was invited to a morning tea at Government House to hobnob with former Justice De Jersey and Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk after being nominated in the small business, health and biotechnology section of the Queensland Export Awards.

Not to forget an extra nomination for the emerging exporter award.

Unfortunately the Governor’s fun police banned photos or video footage of the event, so Ms Driver said she would have to rely on her memories of the occasion.

Also, unfortunately, Tan missed out on a gong.
