Ten’s Losers weepers
CHANNEL 10 has chosen to dump The Biggest Loser: Transformed from its Sunday night timeslot.
Instead, the revamped weight loss show will now screen Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm.
The switch comes after dismal ratings last Sunday when The Biggest Loser: Transformed was trounced by Married at First Sight, My Kitchen Rules and Grand Designs.
The Biggest Loser: Transformed scored a very poor 305,000 viewers across the five capital cities – a new low for the franchise.
The figure was around a quarter of the 1.190 million that watched Married at First Sight, a new ratings record for Nine’s wedding show.
My Kitchen Rules averaged 1.020 million for its elimination episode which saw Kelsey and Amanda sent packing.
The ABC’s Grand Designs (743,000) also easily beat The Biggest Loser: Transformed.
The Biggest Loser: Transformed has struggled from the start. Its launch episode got off to a flabby start with 405,000 viewers last Tuesday.
Ten issued a statement at the time saying they backed the new version of The Biggest Loser despite the slow start.
“We are confident that Australians will embrace it,” Ten program chief Beverley McGarvey said.
That doesn’t seem to have happened with Wednesday’s episode averaging 453,000 but Thursday’s dropping to 387,000.
Ten took a chance on rejigging The Biggest Loser, ditching Michelle Bridges and Steve “Commando” Willis and changing the focus from morbidly obese contestants.

The Sunday night The Biggest Loser: Transformed will be replaced by new episodes of US sitcom Modern Family.
