P0 Box 1, Southport 4215 editorial@goldcoast.com.au facebook.com/goldcoastbulletin THE article regarding attacks on our paramedics ( GCB, 1/5) was just laughable.

Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services Cameron Dick blows his party’s trumpet for setting up two taskforces “to identify measures to stop violence against health workers”.

Another talkfest and jobs for the boys. Here’s the answer, Mr Dick. Instruct the judiciary to give proper penalties to guilty parties as courts are meant to act as deterrents.

At present, penalties are an absolute joke. So dissolve your useless taskforces and get on with doing something positive.

As for your comment Queensland has some of that the strongest laws. Not any use whatsoever when no one is sentenced to anywhere near the maximum.

JUST read article on new $400,000 pop up toilet in Surfers.

One side is female with a sit down stainless steel toilet.

Other side says male with a stand up small urinal. So where can the men sit, if need be? In the female side, perhaps?

ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk’s barrage against the PM was long overdue and on the money if Peter Dutton’s spray against her was anything to go by.

Hopefully we will see Dutton out and about looking after his housing portfolio and not on the gravy train after the next election.

With the LNP looking increasingly dodgy the next Queensland election looks good for Annastacia.

WE read and hear frequently about people who rort the Centrelink system.

I, however, am being penalised because I am honest!

I have income from the power feed-in tariff.

Prior to requesting my energy provider to credit my bank account with the balance due, on August 8, 2016, I attended the Centrelink office of my local branch.

I was advised that credit from the solar power would not affect my pension.

I recently spoke to a customer service representative at the same office on April 24 and another on solar April 28 and have had my pension reduced by $29 a fortnight.

I was told “we have no training in this.”

The representatives have done their best to help, however, I feel that until Centrelink clarify this matter to all staff, I should be given the benefit of my honesty and be paid my regular due pension.

I have never bludged worked until I was 67.

All that I have read on two different websites have stated that.

I quote: “According to the Centrelink website regarding the income test for pensioners, an individual can earn up to $142 per fortnight and a couple can earn up to $248 per fortnight.”

An example given is “if a beneficiary of Centrelink … receives $260 it will be counted as being $10 income per fortnight for 26 fortnights.”

What do you suggest I do next? and
