Sharks find some form

-

far but there may just be some light at the end of the tunnel with a number of young players doing well and with some of the bigger names set to return to the fray.

Especially encouraging were Sam Jewell, Cody Filewood and Dylan Lancaster in their supporting roles as exCollingwood and Fremantle player Jack Anthony put on a clinic back at full-forward with a haul of 5.1.

“Jewell was in his first game and had to play a role on Sam 2018 COMMONWEALTH GAMES HOST CITY Michael (ex-AFL listed) – and he did well,” Bock said.

“Cody played a plus-one (extra man) role in defence and was good.

“He uses the ball well and could potentially find himself there a bit more often.

“Tommy Thynne also did his job running with Brad Howard.”

While Anthony revelled in his return to attack fellow forward Matt Fowler tarnished an otherwise outstanding game with seven behinds as he found the centre of the goalposts an elusive target.

Despite the giant confidencedelivered by the victory, Bock knows there is still plenty of work to be done to get out of the lower reaches of the ladder.

Interestingly, the Sharks are now one win behind rivals in the race for the top six yet only one win above bottom spot.

A dampener was a poor final term when the Bombers kicked 5.4 to 3.4 after trailing by 30 points at three-quarter time.

“That was Bock said.

“It would have been nice to have had a six to eight goal win because up to then we were really good.

“But without a doubt we know there is still work to be done to improve on these results.”

The Sharks come up against the Gold Coast Suns at Metricon Stadium next weekend and, for a change, will go into that clash with their tails up after the key weekend win. disappointing,”
