Proctor tipped to fire after suspension

-

TITANS coach Neil Henry says former co-captain Kevin Proctor knows he has let his teammates down and wants to make up for lost time when he returns against Souths.

Proctor was named to start in the second-row after serving a four-match club-imposed suspension following his alleged cocaine use after the Anzac Test last month.

Proctor’s addition is one of the few bright spots for the Titans, who have been decimated by injury and Origin, with backrower Chris McQueen set to play at five-eighth.

“I think he get his job done and lead the way on the field,” Henry said when asked what he expected from Proctor.

“He’s really keen, he knows he’s let the boys down by not being able to participate in the last four games and we’ve only won one of those four.

“He’s keen to get out there and just play his game, punch out some good minutes and be very solid on the field.

“He’s been around training, he’s been talking to the younger players – he’s been getting on with doing what he has to do, his requirements (of his punishment).

“He’s been fully committed to what his requirements are around what happened.

“But to his credit, he’s been a voice at training and showed some leadership there as well.”

McQueen is also looking forward to Proctor’s return.

“The suspension’s been burning him for the last month and to watch us go out there struggle a bit, I’m expecting a big game,” McQueen said.

“It’s been a month since he’s played, so he’s hungry to get back out there and put all this behind him and just rip in and help the team.”
