THE RUM DIARIES

BEST PIRATE TIPPLES

-

UNINTERRUPTED sunset views are on the menu at a new Salacia Waters cafe.

Recently rebranded to Brewed Addictions, the waterfront restaurant will offer a more luxurious experience to diners than the cafe that formerly occupied the prime northern Gold Coast site.

Manager Jose Golaw says the transition was a balancing act, but it’s paid off.

“The new Brewed Addictions was created on the motto ‘casual dining at its finest,’ but we still had to encompass the essence of what Brewed Addictions initially started as – a place where the locals could enjoy a bite to eat and a nice hot coffee,” he says.

“To change it from a little coffee shop to a gorgeous share-plate restaurant was definitely an interesting task and we feel we have become that motto while still holding on to our roots.”

Despite there being increasing competition in the local dining scene, Jose is confident Brewed Addictions will appeal to residents from all over the Coast, not just locals.

“What we provide down this end of the Coast is a waterfront dining experience with a vibe that makes anyone, from the most discerning diner to an easygoing patron, feel welcome and taken care of,” he says. “We tried our very best to stay away from your cliche tapas menus of skewers and arancini, but provide high-quality food that you are able to share in a social aspect.”

A twist on the vegetarian dish sees an intricate Vegetable Medley, pretty to look and bursting with freshness.

Lamb ribs and pork belly should keep the carnivores happy, while a full pizza menu with specials every Tuesday is a family and group favourite.

Jose says, even though the menu suits “everyone, from your pizza lovers to your finedining aficionados,” the service will keep people coming back.

“Our staff are the ones who will definitely leave a positive imprint on what you will and should expect from the Gold Coast dining scene,” he says.

“Our service is run through with the thought ‘how would you treat someone at home? Would you not offer them food, drink and a conversation?’ If so, that is hospitality.”
