Day defends ‘crazy’ shot
JASON Day has defended the “crazy” decision which scuttled his US PGA hopes by saying he hits balls in the rough enough to be an expert.
The former world No. 1 had his humour and self-belief intact after yesterday’s one-under-par 70 for ninth when seven shots behind American winner Justin Thomas.
Day’s bid ended a day earlier with a disastrous quadruple bogey eight, including a shot from behind a tree.
“I’ll chalk it up to making a better decision next time,” Day said.
