Less uni for lazy students
TWO-YEAR degrees are the future of university education because too many students spend their first year drinking and lying in bed, according to a vice-chancellor.
Sir Anthony Seldon said his Buckingham University began offering two-year courses, with shorter holidays and four terms a year instead of three, more than 40 years ago. Sir Anthony said two-year courses were becoming more popular – with many sixth-formers now taking a gap year volunteering instead of paying for an extra university year.
