Brisbane bar refuses entry to royalty

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, the husband of Princess Mary, was turned away from a Brisbane bar. The Crown Prince was stunned when told he and his entourage needed ID to enter a pub. The incident happened at Jade Buddha bar at the Eagle St Pier just before midnight on Friday.

Woman injured at go karting facility

A woman in her 40s has been hospitalis­ed after crashing at a popular Go Karting facility. Emergency services were called to the scene on Siganto Drive at Helensvale just after 7.30pm on Monday. The woman was transporte­d in a stable condition to Pindara Private Hospital.

Faulty lift claims life of young mum

A young mother has been killed in a hospital lift tragedy. The woman, 26, is said to have been killed as she was transporte­d on a stretcher between the floors of a hospital in Seville, Spain, on Sunday. The lift reportedly started moving upwards before the stretcher was fully removed from the elevator trapping the unidentifi­ed woman’s head.

Girlfriend beats kids to late dad’s $352k

Daniel Leverton was just 40 when he died leaving behind two young daughters. Mr Leverton collapsed after surfing at Arrawarra in NSW and died on April 4, 2015. Former partner Angela Watson, the mother of his children, believed their future would be secured, having long ago been named as his sole beneficiar­y. But what she didn’t know was most of her expartner’s estate would be divided up with little weight given to his written will. A woman with whom the soldier had a fairly new relationsh­ip lodged a claim with Military Super, and was awarded $352,170, leaving just $49,664 each for his daughters.
