Booked out for Games
GOLD Coast hotels are reporting heavy bookings for next year’s Commonwealth Games, with one major resort already sold out.
Gaming giant Star Entertainment said yesterday its Sheraton Grand Mirage Gold Coast was already fully booked for the Games, which will run from April 4-15.
Star Entertainment chief executive Matt Bekier said bookings at the company’s other properties, including the refurbished Star Gold Coast, were filling up fast.
Queensland’s largest accommodation provider Mantra Group said Gold Coast hotel rooms were still available during the Games.
But Mantra chief executive Bob East said bookings at its 23 Gold Coast properties during the games were at an all-time high. Mantra operates Peppers and Breakfree hotels.
