NEW DARTS TOUR HITS BULLSEYE

-

A NIGHT at the darts is a magic experience and the man they call the Wizard is urging readers to get their tickets for the inaugural Pro Darts Showdown Series in January.

Australian No.1 Simon Whitlock is one of eight of the world’s best darts who will compete in the showdowns in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville and Mackay.

The tour is brought to you by the Gold Coast Bulletin and the Dart Players Australia. Tickets go on sale today.

Whitlock will be joined by 16-time world champion Phil “The Power” Taylor, Australian No.2 Kyle “The Original” Anderson and former world championship runner-up Andy Hamilton.

As well as darts’ own “battle for the Ashes”, there will be an international flavour to the Pro Darts Showdown, with South African No.1 Devon Peterson and America’s best player, John Kuzcynski, also headed for the Sunshine State.

Whitlock said Australian darts was in a great place and this series would show the sporting public how good our young players are.

“I am so proud to be Australian and I am so proud to see some talent coming through the ranks. Now is the time to get out and see this talent. You will have a great night out.”

The series starts at the RNA Convention Centre in Brisbane on January 10-11 before making its way to the Gold Coast Events Centre at the Gold Coast Turf Club on January 17-18.

“The recent Masters Series events in Melbourne and Perth were sold out and we expect the same for this series,” director of events and custom media Mark Algie said. “Stadium darts events are very popular globally.”

Tickets to the showdown are on sale from Ticketek with further details at www.prodartsshowdownseries.com.au.
