The developer yesterday said that he was determined to make the district centre “something really special” but that it would not be his swan song. “I know I’m running out of time at 82 so it’s full steam ahead with Pimpama City,” he said.

Surfers snow park opens in weeks

Get ready to hit the ski slopes of Surfers Paradise within a month. Operators of the Gold Coast’s first outdoor ski park expect to open in Mid-November as they await the arrival of the artificial material which will form the slopes. “We have been really flat out the past few weeks getting things going and we have already seen the arrow tag operating and cafe open,” said Snow Parks Australia general manager Matt McCulloch.
