New CEO for Bravehearts
LEADING child protection organisation Bravehearts has appointed Wilma James as it new chief executive officer as it celebrates its 20th year protecting children.
Ms James is a former senior director at UniQuest, the commercial arm of The University of Queensland and fills the role vacated 18 months ago by former police officer lawyer Angelo Venados.
She has been deputy chair of Bravehearts since 2015 and a non-executive director and member of its Executive Research Advisory Panel since 2010.
Bravehearts founder and chairwoman Hetty Johnston, who had been serving as interim CEO, said Ms James had a record of achieving outstanding commercial outcomes and a demonstrated commitment to protecting children from sexual assault.
