Flori brothers at war

-

POLICE whistleblower and independent candidate for Southport Rick Flori has accused the Labor Party of trying to cash in on the notoriety of his name to gain votes.

The ALP on Monday announced Mr Flori’s brother, Peter, would run in the seat of Broadwater.

Yesterday, Rick hit out on Facebook: “Even Labor want to use may name. They knew they couldn’t get me so they have gone to my brother”.

Rick came to be wellknown on the Gold Coast after allegedly releasing footage of police beating a young chef while handcuffed.

Peter told the Bulletin had little contact with brother.

“I have been involved with the Labor Party for many years,” he said. “I am passionate about listening to the people of Broadwater and taking their concerns to parliament.”

Peter, a senior sergeant at Gold Coast police, said he was particularly interested in Labor’s public safety policies such as more police for the Gold Coast. he his ANNASTACIA Palaszczuk could form minority government with the Greens, who want to take tasers off police, ban coal exports and decriminalise drugs.

The Premier yesterday refused to rule out a coalition with the Queensland Greens, despite having blackballed any deals with One Nation and Katter’s Australian Party.

It comes as the Greens today plan to announce a vacant property tax of 5 per cent
