Roar back TAFE plans

BRISBANE Roar and TAFE Queensland have signed off on a training program that will give students the chance to forge a career in football training.

The year-long Diploma of Sports Development starts in February at the Southbank campus for the top 25 applicants.

“The academy agreement with Brisbane Roar gives our students in the Diploma in Sports Development the opportunity to work with professional soccer coaches to complete a coaching qualification,” TAFE Queensland general manager Paul Wilson said. “This will provide the students with a great opportunity to enter and work in professional soccer on graduation.

“It also ensures that Queensland soccer can attract the highest quality players and support staff. It is a great opportunity for both partners to add value to the students and the game.”
